I also have 2 hard disks — 40 GB was no longer enough, so I recently bought an additional 80 GB. The first 40 GB disk is Maxtor and the second is a Caviar from WD “Western Digital”. So far I have had no problems with them, meaning data loss or anything similar. Both disks connect via the ATA interface and the platter rotation speed is 7200 RPM.
